Buses and Luggage Storage Prenta Rafpóstur

Iceland has a well organized network of buses that you can use to save time or add flexibility to your planning, check out BSI Travel, Vatnsmyrarvegur 10, 101 Reykjavik. Tel. +354 562 1011.

At the BSI bus terminal youcan store your bags and excess luggage. If you arrive with your bike in a bicycle box that you want to re-use on your flight back you can take the airbus to Reykjavik, it stops at the BSI bus terminal, and there you can store your box for 400kr/day (2005).

Most hotels will gladly store your bicycle box for you if you stay with them a night or two and new boxes are usually easy to get at one of the bikeshops we list here.

If you find you have packed too much and want to loose some weight off your bike, you can send it by bus to Reykjavik and pick it up on your way back. The buses take bicycles (not too many if you are travelling in a group) for a small additional charge.

Taking a bus makes it possible for you to go further in a limited time rather than having to cycle back.
